30th September - introducing 'J.A.A.M.'!

Very exciting news - this is my new a capella singing group 'J.A.A.M.' formed with my friends Alex Young, Jussi Jenssen and Matthew Phillips. Enjoy - it's very funny!

JAAM sings Jingle Bells

9th September - concert

I was lucky enough to be asked to perform with the Inner West Community Band last weekend. I sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "You Raise Me Up". It was hard singing with a band and keeping together but a great experience. Thanks for letting me sing with you all!

Here are a couple of links ot my performances

3rd September - Eisteddfods over for 2013

Eisteddfod season is over for this year (for me anyway) - I won 24 first places in total for singing and speech & drama which was amazing! More recently, I've been competing in Ryde Eisteddfod, coming away with 11 first places, 3 for singing and 8 for drama, so I was really pleased. Loving my acting and singing at the moment! Now I've got to knuckle down with violin, singing and drama exams fast approaching, as well as all my school exams. Better get back to work then...

11th July - Sydney Eisteddfod

I finished up at the Sydney Eisteddfod today after an amazing season! My results were:

1st place:
Drama / individual solo 12-15 years
Prose Speaking 13 years
Classical Song 13/14 years

2nd place:
Character  / Monologue 13 years

3rd place:
Musical Theatre Song (Unamplified) 13/14 years

Highly Commended:
Actors' Championship 12-15 years
Verse Speaking 13 years
Musical Theatre Song (Amplified) 13 years
World Song 16 & under
Australian Art Song 16 & under

Wow! I still have one more show of 'The Innocents' to go at St. Andrew's Church Hall, Balmain, this Sunday (14th July) at 2pm. Then it's back to school!

13th June - Sydney Eisteddfod and The Innocents!

Nearly the end of another term at school and still busy! I finished up at the Sydney Eisteddfod speech and drama comp with 2 first places (for drama performance and prose speaking), 1 second (character monologue) and highly commended for verse speaking and the 15 / under actors' championship. Really proud of my results! Now I have to get practising for the singing sections.

Big News: 'The Innocents' opens next week - check out the brilliant billboard poster on the right! So excited to be playing Miles - it's a really creepy story and I love it, so try and get along if you can!

29th May - Eisteddfod Success!

Well, it's been another crazy few weeks! First I landed a new job, reading as 'Miles' in 'The Innocents' (Turn of the Screw) with the Actors Forum. We will be performing in several Sydney Theatres over the coming month and I'll post the dates in the next week or two. Very excited about this one!

I've also been competing in a couple of Eisteddfods. I came away with 5 first and 3 second prizes from the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod speech and drama comp and was narrowly beaten into second place in their intermediate drama championship for 12-14 year olds. Then last Sunday I won the 12-15 year drama / individual performance section at the Sydney Eisteddfod which was amazing! Special mention to my sister Hana though, who won 2 firsts and 1 second in her 10 yrs drama sections at the Sydney Eisteddfod - too good!

7th May - Eisteddfod season begins!

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" has now finished so I'm back on the Eisteddfod circuit. Last weekend I entered the Northern Beaches Classical Vocal competition and won 4 first prizes for the vocal solo, sacred solo, folk song and Australian song. I also came 2nd in the 14s and under classical vocal championship, which was amazing. A good weekend's work!

30th March - Lots going on!

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" comes to an end at the Belvoir this week but then we are off to the Theatre Royal for 2 weeks of shows on the big stage so it's all very exciting! Last week I also performed as one of the leads in my school play "Framed" for 2 nights and I played a crazy French policemen but my French accent was terrible! I love acting at my school and I have the best teachers! Aside from acting in plays, I was recently invited to help celebrate Ryde Eisteddfod's 25th anniversary by performing at Ryde Library in a mini concert. I have been taking part in the Eisteddfod for 7 years now and it's how I started out so I was really honoured to be ask to perform. That's about it for now - back to my studies...
