3rd Dec - Dux of year 8!

So proud and amazed to be awarded Dux of Year 8 / Stage 4 at my school speech night yesterday! I came top in 7 out of 10 subjects and was also the winner of the school art and design scholarship. Last weekend I also took my AMEB grade 5 drama and performance exam and received an A+ high distinction which was fantastic, but now I'm really glad it's nearly Christmas and there are no more exams to take this year - it's been such hard work but definitely worth it!

I'm currently still in rehearsals for "Mother Goose" which opens next week - it's going to be a great show so please come along for great entertainment and lots of laughs!

20th Nov - a new mix

Here's my latest dance mix of Kimbra's "Settle Down" put together on my launchpad at home. Hope you like it!

8th Nov - new recordings!

The Pirate King (Gilbert and Sullivan)

She Moved Through the Fair (Irish - traditional)

Ave Maria (Franz Schubert)

No-one Is Alone (Stephen Sondheim)

Oh What A Beautiful Morning (Rogers and Hammerstein)

16th October - Singing Success

Last week I was honoured to be chosen as the guest performer at the Sydney Eisteddfod Alf and Pearl Pollard Instrumental Final. It was a fantastic evening and all the finalists were amazing! Below is a picture of me singing as the Pirate King from the Pirates of Penzance.

I also took my AMEB grade 7 singing exam and received an A+ high distinction, so I was very happy! Now for school exams so I'd better go and study...

7th September - Scholarship Winner!

My last day of eisteddfod comps for 2014 yesterday but what great day - I ended up winning the Ryde Eisteddfod speech and drama Junior Rotary Scholarship (14 and under). Wow! My lil' sis did really well too, winning 2 first prizes herself in the 10s and under speech sections. So that wraps up eisteddfod season for me - 26 first places this year for singing and acting (my new record!). Thank you to all the people who donated prizes and to all the volunteers who help out at these events. They are are so important for young performers like me trying to get experience and advice and I look forward to coming back and competing again next year!

July 6th - Sydney Eisteddfod Classical Singing

I had a fantastic day last Friday, winning 3 first prizes at the Sydney Eisteddfod classical singing comp. The sections I won were the 14 & under Glibert and Sullivan solo, the 13/14 years classical solo and the 16 & under world / folk song. I also came 3rd in the 16 & under Australian art song. So proud and relieved that my voice is still OK after only properly breaking a few months ago. Happy!

June 7th - more eisteddfod success!

More eisteddfod competitions over the last 2 weeks - last weekend, at the Northern Beaches, I came first in the Intermediate Speech and Drama Championship and also won the speech and drama bursary and a special character award, then this week I won the Sydney Eisteddfod drama / individual performance section for 12-15 year olds (and picked up a highly commended in the Shakepseare section). Eisteddfods are a great way to get performance experience (I have been entering since I was 6!) and valuable feedback from professionals, but I still have a lot to learn....
