13th Nov - Farewell Mr. W....

Honoured to be part of a very special concert to say thank you to our fabulous head of music, Mr. Wilcock, for being such a great teacher for so many years and inspiring so many kids to enjoy music. Here's a pic of me singing the opening number 'Wilkommen' from the musical 'Caberet' and a link to a short clip of my peformance. Thanks to everyone who helped organise the concert and to all the other amazingly talented people who performed!

12th October Associate Diploma Result!

Wow - found out yesterday I had been awarded a distinction for my AMEB Associate Diploma (AMusA) singing exam! Can't quite believe it as I was very young to be taking the exam in the first place but thankfully all the preparation and hard work paid off. Thanks must go to my amazing singing teacher Tim Collins for his expert advice and guidance, plus all the teachers at school who have supported me along the way! In other news, I recently found out I will be playing Demetrius in the St. Andrews 2018 production  of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" which is exciting, plus there are are number of other projects on the horizon, but I have HSC to get through first so I have a hard year ahead. Better get on with my homework...

13th August - Sydney Eisteddfod Actor's Championship

Honoured and amazed to come second tonight in the Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Actor's Championship (beaten good friend Hudson Musty - see pic below). Congrats to all the actors - it takes a lot of effort to prepare a full program for the comp (Shakespeare, a contemporary piece and a poem in my case) and everyone gave it their best shot!

10th July - Sydney Eisteddfod success!

Amazed to win second place in both the open age Gilbert and Sullivan and operatic duo sections of the Sydney Eisteddfod last night (with the fabulous NIna Coombes - see pic below). My first success in the open sections and a big surprise as I was ten years younger than some of the more experienced competitors. Good to be able to use my acting skills in a singing comp and great to make a comeback after missing most of the classical singing comps due to sickness. Now back to work on some new songs....

18th June - Fawlty Towers sells out!

Riding the wave of St. Andrew's Cathedral School's SELL OUT production of  Fawlty Towers! Here are a few pics from 'The Germans' (I am Basil Fawlty in case you are in any doubt)! #dontmentionthewar

May 25th - Sydney Eisteddfod begins!

It's that time of year again and Sydney Eisteddfod is in full swing already! I was lucky enough to win the 16-18 years verse speaking competition last night while also being awarded an A+ for my AMEB Certificate of Performance drama exam (the level above grade 8) at the weekend. Now to learn my lines ahead of 'Fawlty Towers' which opens in 4 weeks and to switch my head back into singing mode with more competitions at the end of June!

7th May - Cantorion Singing Competition

Extremely honoured to be named overall winner of the Cantorion Singing Competition today, also winning lessons with Dr. Rowena Cowley and Bradley Gilchrist, plus a studio recording session with Van Leucia! Congrats to all the other competitors (especially the St. Andrews crew!) and thanks to Ben Oxley for organising everything.

2nd April - It's a wrap!

It's all over and Dorothy has finally made it back to Kansas for the last time with the final performance of St. Andrews Cathedral School's production of 'The Wizard of Oz' at NIDA Parade Theatres. I have absolutely loved playing the Scarecrow - the perfect role for me I reckon - and am so grateful to the school for giving me this amazing opportunity to return to musical theatre, 5 years after my run as Michael Banks in 'Mary Poppins'. Thanks to all the amazing staff who made the show possible and to all my fellow cast mates - we had way too much fun!!!

Now on to new projects as I begin rehearsals for the school production of 'Fawlty Towers' (in which I will be playing Basil himself!), opening towards the end of next term.
