A message from Alex:

Hi there and thanks for checking out my website! I am a 17 year old British / Aussie actor, singer, film maker, composer and designer (anything creative really) and have been working professionally as an actor for the last 6 years or so. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in some pretty amazing productions including playing 'Michael Banks' in the Sydney season of 'Mary Poppins' at the Capitol Theatre, 'Under Milk Wood' with the Sydney Theatre Company, 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' with the Belvoir Street Theatre Company, 'Intersection' with ATYP, 3 seasons with Opera Australia and 3 seasons of pantomime at the King Street Theatre, Newtown, along with a number of film and television appearances. I am also a classically trained baritone singer (AMusA Dist.) and give regular vocal recitals around Sydney where I am currently based, although I am hoping to work overseas in the future. Hope you enjoy my website!

13th June - Sydney Eisteddfod and The Innocents!

Nearly the end of another term at school and still busy! I finished up at the Sydney Eisteddfod speech and drama comp with 2 first places (for drama performance and prose speaking), 1 second (character monologue) and highly commended for verse speaking and the 15 / under actors' championship. Really proud of my results! Now I have to get practising for the singing sections.

Big News: 'The Innocents' opens next week - check out the brilliant billboard poster on the right! So excited to be playing Miles - it's a really creepy story and I love it, so try and get along if you can!

29th May - Eisteddfod Success!

Well, it's been another crazy few weeks! First I landed a new job, reading as 'Miles' in 'The Innocents' (Turn of the Screw) with the Actors Forum. We will be performing in several Sydney Theatres over the coming month and I'll post the dates in the next week or two. Very excited about this one!

I've also been competing in a couple of Eisteddfods. I came away with 5 first and 3 second prizes from the Northern Beaches Eisteddfod speech and drama comp and was narrowly beaten into second place in their intermediate drama championship for 12-14 year olds. Then last Sunday I won the 12-15 year drama / individual performance section at the Sydney Eisteddfod which was amazing! Special mention to my sister Hana though, who won 2 firsts and 1 second in her 10 yrs drama sections at the Sydney Eisteddfod - too good!

7th May - Eisteddfod season begins!

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" has now finished so I'm back on the Eisteddfod circuit. Last weekend I entered the Northern Beaches Classical Vocal competition and won 4 first prizes for the vocal solo, sacred solo, folk song and Australian song. I also came 2nd in the 14s and under classical vocal championship, which was amazing. A good weekend's work!

30th March - Lots going on!

"Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" comes to an end at the Belvoir this week but then we are off to the Theatre Royal for 2 weeks of shows on the big stage so it's all very exciting! Last week I also performed as one of the leads in my school play "Framed" for 2 nights and I played a crazy French policemen but my French accent was terrible! I love acting at my school and I have the best teachers! Aside from acting in plays, I was recently invited to help celebrate Ryde Eisteddfod's 25th anniversary by performing at Ryde Library in a mini concert. I have been taking part in the Eisteddfod for 7 years now and it's how I started out so I was really honoured to be ask to perform. That's about it for now - back to my studies...

25th Feb 2013 - Screen Test

Sorry it's been so long since my last update. "Cat on a Hot tin Roof" is now running at the Belvoir and going really well, and with 4 shows a week and all my homework, I don't have much free time, but it's all good. I love the theatre! When I did get a minute last weekend, I made a new screen test video - it's a bit of a sad story though!

22nd Jan - Cat on a Hot Tin Roof!

I can finally say - I have a new job! Today I started rehearsing for Tennesee Williams' "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" at the Belvoir St. Theatre, Sydney! I will be playing one of the three children and the play will run from 16th Feb-7th Apr  with 8 shows a week so I will be sharing my role with one other boy. I am so excited to be working again, especially at such a fantastic theatre with some of Australia's finest actors. Exciting times ahead! For more info go to:

Happy New Year everyone! It was 42C outside today so I stayed in and made this short film about a disappearing water bottle! I did all the filming and editing myself with no help. Hope you like it - making films is great fun!
