A message from Alex:

Hi there and thanks for checking out my website! I am an 18 year old British / Aussie actor, singer, film maker, composer and designer (anything creative really) and have been working semi-professionally as an actor /singer for the last 8 years or so. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in some pretty amazing productions including playing 'Michael Banks' in the Sydney season of 'Mary Poppins' at the Capitol Theatre, 'Under Milk Wood' with the Sydney Theatre Company, 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof' with the Belvoir Street Theatre Company, 'Intersection' with ATYP, 3 seasons with Opera Australia and 3 seasons of pantomime at the King Street Theatre, Newtown, along with a number of film and television appearances. I am also a classically trained baritone singer (AMusA Dist.) and give regular vocal recitals around Sydney where I am currently based, although I am hoping to work overseas in the future. Hope you enjoy my website!

28th July - Eisteddfod Success

So eisteddfod season has come and gone again with great results at both Sydney and Ryde!

At Sydney Eisteddfod, in the 16-20 years classical singing sections, I placed first in the oratorio, second in male voices, third in the Intermediate Opera Award and Italian song, third in the open age Gilbert and Sullivan, plus highly commended in 16-20 years art song, French song and operatic aria.

After an amazing two weeks at Ryde Eisteddfod I managed to come away with FIVE first places in the 18 and over sections: the Rising Star Opera Award, oratorio, Australian art song, musical theatre and folk song sections, plus second in the modern art song section! I was also one of only four singers (and by far the youngest at 18) selected for BOTH the operatic aria and lieder scholarship finals! Such a great way to celebrate my last year of eisteddfod competition in Australia, at least for a few years.

Congrats to all the other competitors and a big thank you to all the amazing volunteers who make these events possible - now to get my wisdom teeth out before heading over to the UK to start my course at the Royal Academy of Music!

18th June 2019

I know it's been ages so apologies for that but I've been very busy with music (singing, composing) and study. The big news is that I am moving over the UK in August to begin a BMus in performance at the Royal Academy of Music which is very exciting but I will be continuing to work with Lexel Studios on various projects so watch this space for updates! In the meantime I have several singing comps coming up including Sydney Eisteddfod and few other things in the pipeline. Check out the latest epsidode of "This Room Does Not Exist' in the link below - are you hooked yet?!

Dec 4th 2018 - I'm back!

So HSCs are finally over and normal life can now resume! Since finishing exams I have been busy auditioning, filming my webseries, releasing my first album ('Parasitia') and working on my first feature film and comedy series but more to come on all that in the next few weeks...

School may be over but I was amazed to find out I had been nominated for all four of the HSC major work subjects I took ('Onstage' for drama, 'Encore' for music, 'Intech' for industrial techonology multimedia and 'Shape' for design and technology), plus I recently found out the film I made for multimedia has been selected for exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum next year which is fantastic. I'll post a link for the film when it's released later this month, in the meantime here is a link to an interview I did with the Sydney Eisteddfod earlier in the year!

12 August 2018 - Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Actor's Championship Winner!

Honoured and amazed to win the Sydney Eisteddfod Senior Actor's Championship today! Thank you so much to adjudicator Anthony Phelan for his support and constructive comments and a very special thanks to the Pollard Family and Friends who sponsored the award. Well done also to all the other competitors - you were all amazing!

So that's a wrap at Sydney Eisteddfod for me this year - thanks to all the organisers but especially to all the amazing volunteers and sponsors who make the festival possible!

30th July 2018

Despite being a bit snowed under with the HSC lately, I've still managed to squeeze in a few eisteddfods, winning 3 seconds in the open age musical theatre duet, 17-20 operatic aria and oratorio sections of the Sydney Eisteddfod, 3rd in the open age Gilbert and Sullivan and 1st in the Australian Art Song at Ryde Eisteddfod last week.

After competing in a few more sections at Ryde this weekend I was honoured and surprised to be selected as one of 4 finalists in the Ryde Eisteddfod Operatic Aria Scholarship competition on Sunday, competing against 3 other amazing singers several years older and more experienced than me. No prize in the final but great to have been asked to take part!

22nd May - Sydney Eisteddfod Success

Had a great couple of days competing in the Sydney Eisteddfod speech and drama sections, coming away with gold medals in the 16-18 years character monologue and verse speaking sections, with a second place in prose!

4th May 2018 - new video

Last month I was fortunate enough to sing in Handel's house in London as part of my school UK music tour. Below is a link to the video of me singing 'Revenge, Timotheus Cries!' from the oratorio 'Alexander's Feast' - by Handel (of course!). Hope you like it!

21st April 2018 - UK Music Tour

Midsummer Night's Dream has finally closed after a crazy week of punk rock and 1970s hairstyles (see pic below) - loved playing Demetrius and congrats to all the amazing cast and crew!

Now having an awesome time on the St. Andrew's Cathedral School UK Music Tour - been to Edinburgh, Liverpool (scroll down to see my pic with John Lennon!) and Manchester performing beautiful music in some amazing venues. We're currently in London about to perform a concert at Southwark Cathedral, then next week we have a workshop with the King's Singers and I am singing Handel in Handel's House(!), but the big news is that we will all be singing at the Westminster Abbey ANZAC Day memorial service - and in the presence of HRH Prince Henry of Wales - aka Prince Harry - no less! A real honour and very exciting (see link to newspaper article below)!
